Our Humble and Noble Expectation

The main objectives of the Sasana Sewaka Samithiya and Sasana Sewila Samithiya are to accumulate virtuous, religious lay persons with Vajiraramaya temple. The other intensions of the society can be stated as follows.

  • To establish and to maintain a Bhikkhu Training Center and to create well educated, righteous, erudite monks who are capable of teaching the humans throughout the world.
  • To help, assist the most venerable mahanayaka thero in any national, international social, cultural and religious efforts.
  • To be an assist and patron in every social, cultural and religious efforts of the chief monk, in the Kandy vajiraramaya temple
  • To promote meditation and to carryout meditation training for lay people
  • To initiate a dhamma school and to educate the young minds in the society
  • To ascertain peace and harmony among different ethnic groups within the country
  • To develop the social morals and harmony among the people
  • To be assistance for the people in need
  • By initiating the ‘Thurunu Saviya’ youth society, to create a strong foundation for the young to modify their lives in productive manner and allowing them to improve their skills and abilities which they possess through social activities
  • To establish a knowledge base through a resourceful library

To carry out the above the society powers several of its members as executives. The officials are appointed annually and are responsible for the well being of the Sasana Sewaka Samithiya, Vajiraramaya and broadly of the society.
